Japan IB Accreditation
This past Friday was an important day for Si Global Education and our teaching connections throughout the world. First of all, we began discussions with a new potential partner from Japan.
Japan Abroad Network-Link, works with and represents a number of schools, educational institutions and authorities throughout Japan. From Tokyo to Hiroshima to Nagoya, they have combined to start this ambitious new Japanese education project.
Japanese educational authorities are starting 200+ special K-12 schools throughout the country over two years. They are moving their schools toward an all-English academic structure with high standards for teaching. One example is their International Baccalaureate program. Japan plans to have these teaching programs in place within the next few years. This will definitely mean an increased need for qualified and certified teachers will be in demand.
We have engaged them because of the changes coming to Japanese education. Due to a growing need for teachers and since they have a need for help in removing governmental roadblocks to Canadian educational certifications, they are considering our services. It seems like we can provide them with students, teachers, and consulting, therefore smoothing the overall experience for their many new schools.
Progress & Partnerships
SI Global’s ongoing vision for progress in International Education has begun negotiations to partner with organizations such as JAN-Link. As a result of such partnerships, we provide not only our educational expertise but also access to our growing community of teachers. We encourage teachers who are able to fill these vacancies as they become available, so that they can take advantage of the first wave of job openings. Regular information updates will be posted on this website, and most noteworthy is watch for our featured postings for these new positions!
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers a continuum of international education, hence is highly desirable for many educators. The programmes encourage both personal and academic achievement, challenging students to excel in their studies, while helping in their personal development. In order to teach IB programmes, schools must be authorized. Consequently, every school authorized to offer IB programmes is known as an ‘IB World School’.
In conclusion, certified IB Teachers are given access to:
- Participate in high quality professional development to encourage critical thinking, self-reflection and dedication to lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
- Engage with innovative and diverse education frameworks, unit planners, teaching resources and evaluation tools in addition to certification.
- Broad certification and degree programmes offered by highly respected universities worldwide.
- Teaching methods known to produce students who are motivated to develop lifelong learning, beyond school study.
