Full-time Director of Academic Advising (qualified teacher/counsellor) for the 2017/2018 school year. Candidate must be experienced in the delivery and support of the BC Ministry of Education Program for students in Grades 10-12 and able to provide emotional, social and academic support to students.
The Director of Academic Advising guides students as they make applications to post secondary institutions and assists students with with post secondary transition and PSI credits.
Duties and responsibilities also include managing the school’s student information program (TESS), and coordinating career education programs while working as a critical link between students, teachers and the administrative team. Knowledge and and understanding of and the redesign of the BC Grade 10-12 curriculum, including the examination requirements is critical to this position.
The salary range is from $55,000 to 73,000 CDN plus generous living allowance, flights, benefits and bonuses.

Applicants should have two years of teaching or related and must be BC Certified or eligible for BC Certification.
Grade 10 to 12 BC Program for 200 Chinese and international students who plan to attend post-secondary institutions in Canada or another western country after graduation. Instruction in the program is in English and is provided by BC certified teachers who follow the BC Curriculum leading to Dogwood Graduation Diploma. The BC Program is fully certified and is subject to annual inspections by the BC Ministry of Education. The current campus was established five years ago and the facilities on the campus have been developed each year. The BC program moved into a new building in September 2014. Classrooms offer Internet connection, white boards, wide screen televisions and individually controlled heating and air conditioning.
